SYQLONE
BIOGRAPHY
Syqlone is a versatile composer whose production range spans from rappers and poets to club environments and orchestral ensembles.
Spotted by Arte Tracks and Tsugi Magazine, she captivates audiences with the stylistic mutations she weaves into her music, blending unapologetic digital elements from club aesthetics with deeply organic textures (strings, woodwinds, natural sounds).
Initially trained in violin and orchestral arrangement at the conservatory for 12 years, she pivoted toward electronic music at 22, following cinema studies that introduced her to the urban and underground visual narratives that would leave a lasting mark on her work. This discovery pushed her to explore the raw, gritty sonorities of hardware and machines.
Her sonic universe is built like a futuristic and epic mythology, navigating freely between hybrid classical orchestrations reminiscent of Kevin Penkin, Daniel Lopatin, or Fatima Al Qadiri, and the organic electronic textures of the deconstructed club scene (Tzusing, Fitnesss, Abadir).
Drawing inspiration from video game worlds like Cyberpunk 2077, 1950’s film noir, and the folklore of Sufi music, her work acts as both a fable and a utopia—a world where geographical and aesthetic identities converge through poetry rather than boundaries. Much like a Bosch painting or an Abbasid mosaic, the raw and chaotic elements in her music always resolve into an unexpected form of order and fantastic grace.
Syqlone’s approach is defined by a constant search for narrative sound systems, where the creative process becomes a direct extension of the subject matter.
Her expertise is showcased in poetic performance with Je me regarderai dans les yeux (Rim Battal), where she deconstructs everyday life through Jungle rhythms and epic orchestrations. In cinema, she navigates between the urban oneirism of Les nuits de jasmin (Naël Zaiti-Ruelle), merging industrial sound design with harp textures, and the radical minimalism of Martyre de Sainte Dymphne (Sarah Bordji), where she explores atonal aesthetics and 430Hz dissonances to translate the invisible.
Deeply involved in documentary and social narratives, she transformed protest field recordings into epic anthems for À l’avant-poste (Judicaëlle Perrot). Finally, her practice extends to contemporary dance with the show Sycomore (Saphir El Belkheir), a collaborative creation where the music—built in real-time from family archives—evolves from granular textures into a liberating trance. At its core, the music is never just a backdrop; it is a visceral narrative force designed to leave a lasting emotional impact.
